A wonderful weekend!

Last weekend I made a trip home to have some family time and to rejuvenate before a long couple of weeks of midterm studying. I happened to look on the calendar of events for Buffalo Run casino and saw that Thompson Square was performing on Friday night! I quickly asked Hoguen what he was doing Friday night and it was a date. He wanted to take me to Portabella's(a new restaurant in Grove) but after hearing it was an hour and a half wait we decided on an old favorite The Lazy Parrot. As we were walking in my parents were getting out of their car, so we all ate together and had a wonderful dinner.

I went shopping the week before and decided on this dress from Pac-sun because of its country girl feel and the Betsey Johnson belt went perfectly with my red Corral cowgirl boots.

The concert was amazing and learning to two-step was a blast. On Saturday my parents and I ventured to NW Arkansas for a day of shopping after having a delicious lunch at Mimi's Cafe. The New Orleans decorations reminded me of how much I am going to enjoy sampling all sorts of cajun food on our road trip to Florida. We will be touring a few plantations and furthering my love for all things "Southern".

Now it is time to get back to studying for my zoology lab midterm and my upcoming chemistry unit 3&4 test.

Cupcakes make me smile!

There is a new cupcake cafe on Campus Corner, so a few weeks ago my "biggest fan" and I went to sample the delicate desserts! The atmosphere was very bright and cheerful despite the few customers.
I am now in love with the simple mason jar lanterns that lit this quaint little shop.
We decided to try the lemon, red velvet, and almond.

The cupcakes were quite small for their $2 price tag; however, I am eager to return and taste all of the new flavors they will be baking!
