Things That Make Me Happy

I was inspired by Lollipop Loves to begin listing things that add laughter and smiles to my life!

#1

I believe that daisies are the friendliest flower, and for that reason they always bring a smile to my face.

#2
Chai Tea Lattes

#3
Scarlett O'Hara Butler
(despite my love for Scarlett I must confess that Melanie Wilkes will always be the perfect portrait of a Victorian lady)

For that reason she receives the #4 spot

#5
The Alpha Phi dream house!
All the best girls wear the ivy.

#6

An all pink bedroom complete with a four poster bed, toile bedding, and shabby chic decor.

#7
Cookies, cakes, and candy... oh my!

#8
I am obsessed with vintage Airstream trailers especially those who have been redecorated in fun themes such as:

Mackenzie-Childs
The Junk Gypsy girls decorated this one for Miranda Lambert

How could you not have fun on a road trip in this!

#9

I know they may be a bit kiddie, but I just love these drink animals! They remind me of fun times at Ozzies on Monkey Island.

#10
I am obsessed with Miranda Lambert's new group "Pistol Annies". They have had their single "Hell On Heels" all over the radio, but their new CD is a collection of songs you never get tired of hearing.

Maybe he's in Texas, maybe this town
Maybe Oklahoma plowin' up some ground
Northern Carolina, somewhere on the coast,
Maybe Alabama drivin' thru Montgomery right now.
There's somethin' 'bout a boy from the South.

Maybe he's in Florida, somewhere in the pines,
Maybe on the delta throwin' out a line,
Maybe he's in Georgia, starin' at the stars,
Maybe Tennessee pickin' on a guitar right now.
There's somethin' 'bout a boy from the south

Yea, the first time I felt it I was only 16,
And he kissed me underneath the chinaberry tree.
Said "Goodnight darlin'," with a sweet southern drawl.
Man, I think I might just have to love them all –
My boys from the South.

Maybe in Kentucky, workin' in the mine.
Maybe down in Little Rock, just to pass the time.
Maybe he's somewhere in New Orleans,
Livin' it up in the Big Easy right now.
There's somethin' 'bout a boy from the South.

Yea, the first time I felt it I was only 16,
And he kissed me underneath the chinaberry tree.
Said "Goodnight darlin'," with a sweet southern drawl.
Man, I think I might just have to love them all –
My boys from the South.

Maybe he's in Texas, maybe this town.
My boys from the South. ;)
These are just a few things that I am loving this week! I hope that you have a wonderful rest of the week and a fabulous weekend!

This necklace is from the tiny treasures line of Roberto Coin.

Sunshine and White Sand Beaches

I was lucky enough to be invited to Destin with Hoguen's family, and I had so much fun! We spent the days on the beach playing in the ocean and finding hermit crabs and sea stars. Toby, Lexy, Harley Hannah, and I made sand castles and boogie boarded until we had swallowed enough salt water to fill a swimming pool.
Hoguen and I were able to see the beach 500 feet above the water. The water was the most beautiful color blue I have ever seen and the rush of adrenaline when your feet leave the boat is amazing. The peacefulness of the silence drowned out all of the world and it was just us floating in the clouds.

After a long day of shopping at the Polo and Banana Republic outlet malls, we all went to Sandestin for dinner and fun. All of the little kids climbed the rock wall and zip lined across the lake while Hoguen and I ate cotton candy and sno cones. We went back again to have a date at the Marlin Grill. We loved the atmosphere and food especially the filet mignon and red snapper.

I love matching shirts!

I had a great time in Destin with some of the nicest people in the world.

Living on Grand Lake is the most wonderful blessing.
I can't imagine spending the summer anywhere but the lake.

I learned how to be a true country girl this summer:
I rode horses
I went fishing on the creek...for about 5 minutes
I learned to drive a standard
I drove a tractor
I hauled hay
I picked up hay bales and stacked them in perfectly straight rows (well kinda...)

I am in love with this picture!
